Planned Giving

Leave a Legacy....You love animals – their compassion and loyalty – and you know how important it is to support the animals in our care. With thoughtful gift planning, you can continue to make a difference for the animals at the SafeHaven Humane Society even after your lifetime.

When you make us part of your estate plan you join our Legacy Leaders, a group of dedicated donors committed to providing for the animals and SafeHaven Humane Society after they pass away.

Some of the ways to honor our mission include:

  • Name SafeHaven Humane Society as a beneficiary in your will, revocable living trust, insurance policy or retirement account
  • Create a charitable trust
  • A gift of real estate
  • Make a gift of cash or appreciated securities

Donor Spotlight

Gerald Merereau included SafeHaven Humane Society in his estate plan, and we received a bequest from his estate in 2007. Gerald was a member of the Inner Circle (monthly donor) and faithfully gave a small amount each month. He was an avid animal lover, and upon his death, left us 95 acres in Scio, Ore. Because Gerald and his late wife believed so strongly in advocating for animals, his bequest allowed us to launch the Imagine the Possibilities Capital Campaing and officially move into its new much-needed faciltiy in July 2014.
