Ready to fall in love?

At SafeHaven Humane Society, our goal is to find permanent and loving homes for all of the animals entrusted to our care, and our staff is more than happy to help you find the perfect match for you!

Become a Foster Hero!

Foster One, Save One. When you open your home to a foster pet, you’re giving them comfort and care while freeing up shelter space – allowing us to help even more animals in need.

Foster homes play a critical role during kitten season. Many of the tiny kittens we take in are just a few days old and will need bottle feeding and close, constant care – something that is hard for us to provide in the shelter. Getting them into a home environment quickly will give them the best chance to grow and thrive. We’ll provide all the supplies you’ll need, along with support and guidance every step of the way.

An Update on Pets Who Have Found Their Forever Homes!

Odie
Just look at that smiling face! We can tell Odie is happy with his new family thanks to this update from his mom:

“The first six months with Odie (Was Opie) has been great! He is so good in the house and with kids. Making progress being less reactive on the leash. He can’t be loose in the yard at all because even though he is 6 yrs old he has no trouble jumping a 5ft wood fence to get to the neighbors dog. Besides that, he is a great addition and sibling!”
Jay & Jackie
These two had an instant connection! We’re thrilled that they are happily living together as best friends thanks to this update from their mom:

“I got Jay back in November of 2023 and he was wild! I had had dogs my whole life and he was the most challenging dog I’ve ever had. He was so skiddish of everything, even touching him. But after years of training and trust he has become the most wonderful dog. Sadly my old border collie (and his best friend) passed and he needed a new friend to keep him feeling confident. We went to SafeHaven again and was very specific on what we needed for Jay. When Jackie came up she was so excited and in your face happy and totally opposite of Jay. We put them together and it was ment to be, they clicked almost instantly.”

Maxwell & Dexter
These boys were destined to be BFFs! We’re so glad their mom shared an update with us on how Maxwell and Dexter are doing in their forever home together.

“Maxwell (formally Blitzen) and Dexter (formally Zeus) are both SafeHaven puppies, adopted between 8-10 weeks old. Maxwell is now 1yr 9mo old and I swear he’s still growing. He currently weighs 78.6 lbs., Dexter is 9yrs old and weighs 47 lbs. They’re best friends, playing together all the time, wrestling and running zoomies thru the house. Maxwell is a bed hog, but will move over when asked, Lol.

I love my boys so much, they bring me so much joy. Thank you SafeHaven for such a precious gift!”
